Snapchat Redesign
"True simplicity is derived from so much more than just the absence of clutter and ornamentation. It's about bringing order to complexity."
— Jony Ive, former Chief Design Officer, Apple Inc.

An all-new camera.
What matters most when taking a photo? The subject. The new camera interface lets you focus more on the important stuff in your shot. Unnecessary elements have been removed and the camera tools have been hidden from view, made more easily accessible by tapping the new tools button.
A better chat experience.
A more breathable Chat design allows you to more easily interact with those who matter to you most. Now you can pin up to three of your favorite friends to the top of the chat, providing even quicker access to your favorite people. When a friend responds with a message, you'll see a short preview. When someone is typing, a little typing indicator will appear next to their name letting you know a message is on its way. Snapchat will also only show you your most recent chats, and you can always view more by tapping the button at the bottom.
Stories like you've never seen.
The overhauled Stories tab brings one of the biggest design enhancements. Your friends' Stories, your subscriptions, and the Discover pagewhere you can find new people and shows to watchnow live on separate pages, so you only have to see what's most important to you when you want it. And just like Chat, your favorite friends will appear at the top. Snapchat presents only the newest stories you haven't viewed yet, and you can always tap to see previous ones.
Say "Hello" to profiles.
Your new profile is a one-stop-shop for all your stuff—your Snap score, friends, Snaps, Stories, camera roll, My Eyes Only, and settings. Profiles are public by default, so you can showcase Snaps and Stories for anyone to see.
Showcase your best Snaps.
Now when you send a Snap to a friend, you can post it on your profile. When someone visits your profile, they'll be able to see the Snaps that you individually choose to show. Names only show up in viewed Snap lists if you've already added each other as friends.
Friends lists.
Other Snapchatters can now view your Friends on your profile. This makes it easier to discover other people who you might want to add. Privacy is important, so you can choose to hide your Friends list until someone adds you, or you can hide it altogether.
Show off your stories, too.
Just like with your snaps, you can choose to publicly share stories to your profile. And like snaps, views only show up if you've added each other.
